A DRUG dealer has been jailed for two years after being caught in Basildon.

Asher Robinson, 19, of Sherrard Road in east London, was caught in a property in Vange when Essex Police drugs squad Operation Raptor executed a warrant.

As they entered the flat in Ravenscourt Drive, 83 wraps of cocaine and crack cocaine were thrown from a window.

When Robinson was searched, police found heroin concealed in his lighter.

Officers also found a jacket on the living room floor with £180 in the pocket.

Robinson was arrested and charged with two counts of being concerned in the supply of Class A drugs.

He pleaded guilty at Basildon Crown Court and was given a two-year prison term.

PC Dan Onley said: “Drug dealers like Robinson are the scourge of our communities. We are constantly proactively seeking them out to put an end to their drug dealing careers and, like Robinson, put them behind bars.

“We hope this sentence serves as a warning to others who are involved in the illegal drugs trade that they can expect serious consequences.

“I hope it also reassures the community that we will continue to proactively and robustly target drug dealers.”
